Detention
Children adjudicated delinquent by the Wayne County Juvenile Court for offenses categorized as misdemeanors may be placed in the Multi-County Juvenile Attention System. This is a specialized institution designed to house juveniles in a manner similar to, but different from, adult county jail. The Multi-County Juvenile Attention System serves youth placed by juvenile courts in Wayne County and several surrounding counties.
Ohio Department of Youth Services (ODYS)
Children adjudicated delinquent by the Wayne County Juvenile Court for offenses categorized as felonies may be committed to the Ohio Department of Youth Services. ODYS maintains facilities around the state established to house juveniles in a manner similar to, but different from, state prisons.
